The Development Team is pleased to announce a special Tribute Dinner to be held to honour the life of former Physics teacher and Master of Rowing Bob Neill.
The event will be held in school on Friday 6 October 2023, with a Drinks Reception from 6.45pm followed by Dinner at 7.30pm.
Tickets are on sale now at £85.00 per ticket and £50.00 (under 25 years).
This will be an evening to honour the life of former Rowing Master and Physics teacher Bob Neill, to recognise his impact on rowing at Heriot’s, in Scotland and on the wider rowing landscape.
All the money raised through ticket sales and donations will go towards a new quad boat named in honour of Bob and to create a rowing pathway for the school, securing its continuing status as one of Scotland’s centres of rowing excellence.
Bob Neill was Head of Physics and Master of Rowing at George Heriot's for many years. His face was a regular presence at rowing events in Scotland, even after he retired. His legacy continues today with Heriot's Rowers achieving success at national and international level, along with 4 pupils gaining full rowing scholarships in America over the last 3 years. All this under the leadership of the schools one dedicated rowing coach.
The Tribute Evening will feature a fabulous champagne reception followed by a three-course dinner. There will be an auction, an exhibition of rowing at George Heriot’s School plus plentiful rowing and some physics talk!
