It was a real pleasure to welcome Former Pupil Dr Polly Swann (2006) back to George Heriot’s to kickstart our 'S5 Week' with an inspirational talk about her rowing achievements, career in medicine and reaching your potential.

Polly met with 160 pupils, giving a presentation and a very busy Q & A session at the end. The pupils enjoyed hearing about Polly's experiences both at school and after Heriot's, an engaging, encouraging, and motivational start to a busy week. 

Afterwards, Polly kindly spent some time with the current cohort of hardworking rowers chatting and having photographs taken with the team, there was lots of smiles from both the team and Polly, as she wished them all the best for their futures. The pupils were clearly in awe of the World and European champion, and Silver Medallist from the 2016 Summer Olympics.
