The Fairbairns of Heriot's

Fairbairn Descendants
Fairbairn Descendants

We had the pleasure of meeting sisters Joyce and Leslie as they visited the school with Heriot's staff member Suzie. All three, descendants of Former Pupils Archibald David Fairbairn who attended the school in the early 20th century, along with his younger brother Douglas.

Both boys would live with an aunt in Marchmont during term time before traveling back to the family home, a manse in Fife.

Joyce has travelled from Vancouver Island, Canada, to reunite with her sister and visit beloved sites across Scotland, including the school and the family home of their childhood in Greenock.

It really was a pleasure to meet the sisters, powerhouses of energy and conversation, both very proud of the Heriot's connection.

If you would like to return to the school as a Former Pupil, please contact the Development Office on dev@george-heriots.com and we can make an appointment.
