Former Pupil awarded the British Empire Medal

Huge congratulations to Former Pupil, Nigel Linacre (1974) who has been awarded the British Empire Medal for water provision in Kenya and other countries with his charity WellBoring. The Medal was presented by the Lord Leiutenant of Wiltshire in a private ceremony.

Nigel has led the charity since co-founding it in 2011, and it has now delivered safe water to over 250,000 people in rural Africa. The charity relies on voluntary donations.

The goal is to get safe water to a million people via 1,000 school borewells, increasing school attendance and reducing sickness from water-borne diseases.

As a Former Pupil, Nigel said “We distribute chearfullie is forever etched into my mind, thrilled to be playing a part in getting safe water to so many.”

Congratulations Nigel!
