Earlier this summer, we were absolutely delighted to be asked to help plan a very special proposal between Richard and Former Pupil, Erin Illand (2009).

As they prepare to move to the Middle East later this year Richard was keen to make the most of their trip to Edinburgh in August and propose somewhere that held special memories for Erin.

Over the past five years, Richard had often heard Erin speak so fondly of her time at Heriot’s and felt that the Terrace- with its beautiful views of Edinburgh Castle – would provide the perfect setting for such a memorable moment.

Working in Aviation, Richard even managed to time the proposal beautifully last Saturday, with the planned fly over from The Royal Air Force comprising of a C-17 Globemaster and two Typhoon jets, making the occasion all the more magical! 

A very special thank you to former pupil Claire Fleck (2010) who not only captured the proposal so beautifully, but also helped Richard plan the perfect moment.

Huge congratulations to you both, and our very best wishes for this exciting new chapter as you embark on your move to the Middle East.
