The Team!

The intrepid Heriot's Cycle Team have just 4 weeks to go before they hit the road and cycle from Gladsmuir to London.

The team of 6 will be accompanied by Norrie, as support driver. Led by cycling guru Roy; the team includes the Principal, Gareth Warren. The Director of PE & Sport, Guy, Rugby & Cross-Country Coach, Gordon. Estate Woks Manager, Alan, and JS Nursery Nurse Penny

To give you an idea of the arduous, yet we hope fun journey, check out the details below.

Day 1 - 103 Miles! A Climb of 6,475ft.

A journey from Gladsmuir Kirk to Denholm Village, onto Falstone, ending the day somewhere in Hexham.

Day 2 - 98 Miles! A Climb of 6,025ft.

Off they go, sore we are sure, but ready to take on the miles.   On to Richmond and then Skipton on Swale.

Day 3 - 119 Miles! A Climb of 2,200ft.

A big breakfast for a big day on the road, they will be needing all the food and energy to get going. An early start heading to Snaith, Sturton Steeple to Stokeham, onward to Bottleford with a well-deserved rest overnight in Morcott.

Day 4   - 97 Miles! A final climb of 3,100ft.

The last (sore) leg! Off they head, with a short stop at Kimbolton, the onto Hitchin, aiming South to London as they triumphantly arrive that evening at Trafalgar Square! Phew. Ending in a jubilant celebration of their achievement.

We hope you will all join us in congratulating the team on this HUGE endeavour. If you would like to make a donation to the team, however small, we know that they would appreciate it.

Donations can be made via the below links and will all go towards the We are all George Heriot campaign to create new 6 year Bursary places at the School.
