George Heriot’s was honoured to host the first public lecture in relation to the 2024 UK Infected Blood Inquiry Report last night, led by Former Pupil and Chair of the Inquiry, Sir Brian Langstaff (1966).

It was a sold-out event, and we thank everyone who attended this landmark lecture.

Sir Brian brought with him a small glass jar, which he displayed during the lecture. It was designed by Art Lewry and mimics a lab specimen holder, beautifully lit in purple. This jar has accompanied Sir Brian throughout the course of the Inquiry, offering individuals the opportunity to place written messages to loved ones affected by the scandal inside. It is now sealed and serves as a symbolic memorial of the Inquiry.
