London Steering group exploratory meeting
London Steering group exploratory meeting

Miranda and Ailsa from the Development Team had a wonderful time in London last week visiting Herioters across the city. They caught up with Leslie Baikie (1975) who fondly remembers his time at Heriot's and has remained close to the School since leaving in the '70s. They also met with Nick Atkins (1981) at his restuarant Elmore Jam by the Monument where he showcased his original Spianata bread, made fresh on site every day. Next up was Robin Baxter (1969), who was putting plans in place for the evening catch up of London Herioters and Cameron Drysdale (2001) who has long been involved with the London Heriot Club.

The group is exploring how it can add a flourish to gatherings for London-based Herioters. Great thanks to John Anderson, Nick Atkins, Leslie Baikie, Robin Baxter, John Drever, Cammy Drysdale, Scott Duncan, Edmund Gordon, Jimmy Johnstone, Gregor Macdonald, Hector McKechnie, Emilia Yau and David Wilonson for giving up their precious time to meet. Sorry that Niall Garvie and Campbell Allan were unwell.

The evening meeting explored the setting up of a London Steering Group, to see who might have available time to help. The event was hugely successful, with Herioters coming from across the city to meet and discuss the future direction for the group and others volunteering but unable to join the informal event. A huge thank you to Robin Baxter for organising.

If you would like to join the London Steering group, or would be interested in connecting with other London-based Herioters, please do join the London group on the Herioter Hub.
